Terms of Reference for the Nordic Specialist Training Committee (NSTC)


Background

The Nordic Specialist Training Committee (NSTC) operates under the Nordic Federation for General Practice (NFGP). Its overarching purpose is to strengthen collaboration and foster inspiration regarding specialist training in general practice across the Nordic countries.

Purpose and Objectives

The NSTC shall serve as:
• A platform for inspiration and knowledge sharing on specialist training in general practice across the Nordic countries.
• A collaborative body influencing the specialist training programs of Nordic countries to enhance professional standards.
• A driving force in ensuring high-quality training in general practice throughout the Nordic region.

Composition and Appointment

• The committee consists of specialists in general practice, with one representative from each Nordic country.
• Representatives are expected to hold a central role in developing specialist training in their respective countries.
• In addition, there will be one representative from the Nordic Young General Practitioners (NYGP).
Each member is appointed nationally by their respective College of GP/FM.

Meetings

• The committee will hold 2–3 meetings annually, primarily online. A face-to-face meeting will take place in connection with the Nordic Congress.
• NYGP will participate in one of the annual meetings to facilitate mutual inspiration and exchange of ideas.
